Bosnia and Herzegovina welcomed more than 110,000 tourists in April

In April this year, Bosnia and Herzegovina was visited by 110,495 tourists, of which 85,217 in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and 25,278 in the Republic of Srpska, announced the entity statistical offices.

In April this year, entity Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina has registered arrival of 85,217 tourists, which is 26.2 percent more than in April 2016, and compared to March 2017 is more by 67.5 percent. The share of domestic tourists was 21.6 percent and 78.4 percent foreign.

The total number of overnight stays in April 2017 was 158,135, which is 24.3 percent more than in April 2016, and compared to March of this year is more by 65.8 percent. The share of domestic tourists in the number of overnights was 19.1, and foreign 80.9 percent, announced Federal Bureau of Statistics.

Most overnight stays were realized by tourists from Turkey (10.1 percent), Croatian (9.1 percent), Italy (8.4 percent), United Arab Emirates (7.2 percent) and Germany (6.2 percent) for a total of 41 percent. Tourists from other countries realized 59 percent stays.

In April this year, the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina had 28 546 available beds, which is 17 percent more compared to in April 2016. Net utilization rate of beds for hotels and similar accommodation in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in April stood at 20.9 percent.

In April, entity Republic of Srpska was visited by 25,278 tourist which is increase by 6.7 percent compared to March.

There were also 55,047 overnight stays, which is compared to the previous month decreased by 7.4 percent. Number of tourist arrivals and overnight stays in April, compared to the same month of previous year decreased by 2.8 percent. In April this year, Republic of Srpska had 9.885 available beds, announced the Republic Statistical Office.
